Li Yuanchao, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met here Friday with a delegation of Costa Rica's Libertarian Movement Party.

Li, head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, said China and Costa Rica had enjoyed smooth relationship since they forged diplomatic ties in 2007, and the two countries also boasted sound cooperation in such areas as trade, economy, culture and tourism.

The CPC was willing to work with Costa Rica's Libertarian Movement Party to push forward the state-to-state relationship, Li said.

The Libertarian Movement Party Chairman Otto Guevara, who is head of the delegation, said the Libertarian Movement Party was ready to make joint efforts with the CPC to cement friendly exchanges and cooperation.

The delegation, invited by the CPC Central Committee's International Department, will conclude its week-long visit to China on March 29.
