Students bid farewell to teachers and classmates who see them off on Jan. 4.

A total of 55 students majoring in numeric control and electrical equipment maintenance from a vocational school in north China's Shandong province are ready to leave for Shanghai for winter break jobs.

The employers in Shanghai will provide the students with free meals, accident insurance as well as a monthly income of 2,500 yuan. These students can gain both first-hand experience and some money from the winter jobs. More importantly, they can also ease the seasonal labour shortage.
