Photo taken on March 27, 2010 shows the stage performance still of the grandiose landscaped opera Turandot, on its premiere at the International Baseball Stadium of Taichung City, southeast China's Taiwan. The production, a pageantry presentation by renowned Chinese director Zhang Yimou, the director of the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony, involved 400 performers, including 300 students and teachers from the "National Taiwan Sports University" and 20 children. It was the first time for the opera to be performed in Taiwan. Zhang first staged the opera at the Forbidden City in Beijing in 1998. Giacomo Puccini's three-act "Turandot" originated from a Persian fable and is set in China. Performers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait brought diversity to the production, which created a very special performance. (Xinhua/Lin Yi)
