A train runs across the tundra region of Qinghai-Tibet plateau on the Qinghai-Tibet railway in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, May 11, 2011. Since its opening on April 1st, 2006, the five years' sound operation of Qinghai-Tibet railway on Qinghai-Tibet plateau, which is known as "the Roof of the World", proved that the advanced technology applied to the Qinghai-Tibet railway had succeeded in standing the test of time. It is estimated that over the past five years, the Qinghai-Tibet railway has sent over 23 million passengers and 120 million tons of goods. (Xinhua/Chen Haining)
