1,000 Buddhist monks practice ritual in Nanjing

Buddhist monks have meals at Qixia Temple in Nanjing on April 17, 2011. A total of 1,000 Buddhist monks had meals together at the temple as part of a Buddhist culture month held in the city. As a unique ritual in Chinese Buddhism, this meal is called "Guotang," which shows the unity of Buddhist thoughts and etiquette and is regarded as an important method for practicing Buddhism.(Photo by Sun Can, Xinhua)
