A day ahead of the Valentine's Day, Vancouverites were in full Valentine's Day celebration mode this weekend already, with a host of activities going on in the Canadian city.

As Valentine's Day events were going on in local bars and restaurants around the city, offering a range of activities to lure in both couples and lovelorn singles looking to find a mate, a local hotel was promoting a one-stop shop for a variety of romantic items that was billed as the place "where you will find everything you need" for "every kind of lover."

Vancouver's Waldorf Hotel was transformed into the "Love Hotel" for the weekend, with promotions featuring items such as chocolates, sex toys, jewelry, beauty creams and lingerie in an inviting setting.

Meghan Paterson, Waldorf's guest relations manager, who organized the three-day Love Hotel promotion, said such an event was needed to give people more options for things that weren't always readily available in stores.

Speaking in one of the hotel rooms where some revealing lingerie by hot Vancouver designer Erin Templeton was on display, Paterson said the event was "about opening up a different kind of shopping experience for people."

In the hotel's downstairs foyer, other vendors were offering various lines of jewelry, sex toys, beauty creams and the old standby, chocolate -- this time with a difference.
