What looks set to become the world's largest underwater museum has been inaugurated in the Mexican resort city of Cancun.
A total of 400 life-size works of art are expected to complete the underwater exhibit by sculptor Jason Taylor. Snorkelers and scuba divers can already tour the sub-aquatic museum. The museum is expected to promote tourism in the area.
The project is also designed to keep people away from the area's coral reefs, which have suffered extensive damage due to the high volume of visitors. The museum is expected to be completed some time in 2011.
