During the short New Year's Day holiday, the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-speed Railway saw its first passenger flow peak since it was completed, transporting an average of 45,000 passengers per day within Guangdong and Hunan provinces.
According to statistics, during the 4 day period between December 31, 2009 and January 3, 2010, the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-speed Railway transported 180,000 passengers in Guangdong and Hunan provinces, which means that an average of 45,000 passengers was transported per day. On January 1, up to 60,000 passengers were transported.
