The Vietnamese health authorities said a tourist from the Republic of Korea arriving in the country on Wednesday has showed flu-like symptoms, the local newspaper Liberty Saigon reported on Thursday.

The traveler, whose gender is not mentioned by the newspaper, showed higher body temperature and was isolated and suspected of having the flu A/H1N1 virus.

The suspected case was transferred to the Ho Chi Minh Institute of Infectious and Tropical Diseases for testing, and the test result is not available now, said health officials.

Vietnam's health officials had ordered relevant agencies to strengthen inspection at all border gates to ensure no possible appearance of the flu in Vietnam.
