Singapore issued three home quarantine orders on Monday, the first day of the order coming into effect in the country.
Starting from Monday, travelers entering Singapore with a travel history to Mexico over the past seven days will be quarantined for seven days when they enter Singapore from when they were last in Mexico.
According to the Singapore government, one order was issued to a foreign resident and two were issued to Singaporeans to date.
As of Monday, there are no human cases of influenza A/H1N1 in Singapore. Of the 27 flu cases investigated here thus far, 24 cases have tested negative for influenza A/H1N1, and 3 tested positive for the usual circulating seasonal strains of flu.
Also on Monday, Singapore learning institutes such as the National University of Singapore has put in place precautionary measures to guard against the spread of influenza A/H1N1. Precautionary measures taken include daily temperature taking, suspension of all official travels until May 15.
