A batch of on-set photos from "Flirting Scholar II" demonstrates a flustered Zhou Libo being punched by an angry woman in the costume comedy.

Zhou Libo, one of China's biggest comic stars in 2009, plays the character of Wen Zhengming, one of the legendary "top four bel esprits" of the Ming dynasty, in the prequel to classic 1990s comedy "Flirting Scholar".

As expected, Zhou Libo's crossover from a stage comic to silver screen comedian manages to bring public attention to the film.

The "Flirting Scholar" series, a mix of romance, action and comdey, is based on folk tales of the famous literatis of the Ming dynasty.

"It's going to be an excellent movie," Zhou commented.
