On January 13th to the 14th, the renowned dramatist from Taiwan, Stan Lai, is mounting his latest play "Watch TV With Me" at Poly Theater in Beijing. The cast includes some big names as well. Among them are Zhang Jingchu, Jeff Chang, Cheng Qian, Lin Yilun, Shi Ke, and Fang Fang.

The play "Watch TV With Me" presents the exclusively Chinese collective memory of the past three decades. Following the different responses to a TV series, the production explores the impressive changes of Chinese society since the start of the Reform and Opening Up Program. Its Taiwan debut this July got a warm reception.

Shi Ke, Actress, said, "Right from the start, the audience closely followed our feelings. They laughed along with us. The empathy in the theater has been like this from beginning to the end."

"Watch TV With Me" comes in seven acts. Among the locales covered are Beijing in 1980, Northwest China in 1986, Shanghai in 1993, and Shenzhen in 1997. And uniting these disparate elements is a TV drama. The play is composed to involve every spectator.

Shi Ke, a lead star of the show, brought her lovely son to the press conference. The young gentleman has been a faithful fan of his mother's performance.

Shi Ke said, "He is here for my sake. He has seen the show in Shanghai and Taipei. He has learned the lines by heart. The other day, he even volunteered to take a role in the play."

The cast will remain unchanged during the show's run in Beijing.
