Tsinghua program hopes to cultivate Nobel Prize winners

The launching ceremony of the "Tsinghua School Personnel Training Program" was recently held in front of the Tsinghua School. This most iconic building of Tsinghua University will become the special teaching place of the program.
The Chinese government previously gave Tsinghua University the go ahead to launch the national education system reform pilot project named "Cultivation of Top-notch Students in Basic Disciplines Pilot Program." Tsinghua University has established six Tsinghua School classes with the "Tsinghua School Personnel Training Program" as the carrier. Yuan Si, deputy president of Tsinghua University, said that this program, also known as "School Program" for short, has selected a total of 290 outstanding students.
Tsinghua University specially established the posts of "Tsinghua School chair professors" and the "Tsinghua School project director," and employed first-class scholars with international perspectives, such as Qiu Chengtong, a famous mathematician and winner of the Fields Medal and the Wolf Prize, as well as Zhu Bangfen, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as chair professors.
Zhu predicted that the program will definitely cultivate Nobel Prize winners and A.M. Turing Award winners in the future.
