Shaanxi Pavilion to hold "Huaqing Pool Chinese Valentine's Day"

The Shaanxi Pavilion of Shanghai World Expo based on the Huaqing Pool Scenic Area will hold the "Second Huaqing Pool Chinese Valentine's Day" activity from Aug. 14 to Aug. 16. The Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang and Imperial Concubine Yang will travel through time to invite domestic and foreign tourists to the Huaqing Pool where they can feel the romance and celebrate the Chinese Valentine's Day together.

The "Second Huaqing Pool Chinese Valentine's Day" is jointly sponsored by the Shaanxi World Expo Office and Shaanxi Tourism Corporation Group, operated by the Shaanxi Huaqing Pool Tourism Company. It is based on the topic of love and aims at promoting traditional Chinese national culture and reviving traditional Chinese festivals.

Under the characteristic Qin and Tang Dynasty cultural background of Shaanxi tourism, it also aims at enriching and improving the Shaanxi cultural tourism industry and creating a new tourism development model through holding large-scale festival activities as well as another characteristic brand of Shaanxi tourism.

This activity will be the largest cultural activity since the Shaanxi Pavilion was opened, and will feature performances from Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Imperial Concubine Yang impersonators, and from the Shaanxi Huaqing Pool "Everlasting Regret" Troupe. In addition, there will be many Tang Dynasty-style interactive games including a Tang Dynasty-style wedding, delivering love letters, Emperor Xuanzong of Tang granting the seal, taking a lover's vow on Chinese Valentine's Day as well as the "Tou Hu" game.

This activity will demonstrate the rich history and beautiful scenery of Shaanxi to domestic and foreign tourists. In the delightful atmosphere, tourists will feel joy and also understand the profound Tang Dynasty culture and the love story between Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Imperial Concubine Yang and its historic background.
