Ultraman, the leading character of a famous Japanese cartoon, was a symbol of justice, courage and strength by fighting against evils around the world. However, it found a new job recently in Xi'an, capital of China's Shaanxi Province, the Voice of China reported on March 18.

Little restaurants serving sliced noodles, a well-known food in Shaanxi Province, can be found at nearly every street in Xi'an. However, one such sliced noodle restaurant has brought something special to the traditional food, and it is attracting more customers.

Standing beside the gate of the little restaurant is not a human noodle-cutter but a robot that resembles Ultraman.

The boss of the restaurant said the robot not only looks cool but also can do about three bowls of noodles per minute.

He also said he was so satisfied with the robot because it never loses its temper, never asks for a raise and only consumes about 10 points of electricity every day. Using the "ultraman" to replace a real human noodle-cutter will save him more than 15,000 yuan per year, he said.
