The Chongqing Traffic and Tourism Investment Group Co. plans to invest 2 billion RMB in building 10 luxurious inland river liners, and the first of them, to be named "Golden No. I," will be launched on May. 1 of this year, Chongqing Evening Post reported on Feb. 23.

The group also claims that they are going to build the largest, coziest and most luxurious liners for traveling on an inland river on this planet, and the ships not only have a pad on which helicopters can land but also small golf courses.

The 136-meter-long and 19.6-meter-wide "Golden No.1" has six stories and is an 11,000-ton class vessel. It has 161 suites of guests' rooms in all and can contain a maximum of 355 people.

According to its designs, it will be equipped with various business and entertainment facilities, including huge river-view balconies, presidential suites, a shopping street, snack stores, a cigar room, an Internet club, a book bar, a children's park, a sauna center, a clinic, revolving hall, multi-functional hall, helicopter pad, outdoor swimming pool, mockup golf, a large scale cinema, simultaneous interpretation meeting room and four sightseeing elevators.

Currently, the vessel is being built at the Chongqing Dongfeng Shipyard, and when it is finished, it will be a floating five-star hotel on the river.

Indoor noise will be lower than sound of an air-conditioner

Former domestically-built inland river liners have been criticized for the strong shaking and loud noise and were far behind overseas luxury liners.

The Chongqing Traffic and Tourism Investment Group made a strong determination to change the situation and invested about 20 million RMB more to make sure the liners they are building will be the best in terms of their shake and noise deduction systems.

The group said they have reduced the noise from 65 decibels to 45 decibels in public areas on the 10 vessels through introducing advanced techniques from around world, and in the average indoor rooms the noise is just at about 40 decibels, which is even lower than the noise from an air-conditioner.

A luxurious fleet will be formed next year

Following the launch of the "Golden No. 1" on May 1 this year, four other liners will go into service successively, and the last five liners will make their first trip by the second half of next year.

By then, a fleet that made up of 10 luxury liners will be formed and become a new "business card" for Chongqing as well as splendid floating scenery on Yangtze River.
