Undergraduates at Wu Han University recently developed a buoy that can save lives automatically.
The invention, which debuted at the fourth Students' Mechanical Contest, was put together by five students of the Power and Machinery College over the course of three months.
The intelligent buoy has a built-in rechargeable lithium battery that allows it to work continuously for six hours. It can be thrown into the water and commanded via remote control to rush to the people in danger.
The speed is 1 meter to 1.5 meters per second, and it works best within a distance of 50 meters from the remote control.
