Since it was first published on March 3, 1923, Time magazine has had a keen interest in China. Henry Robinson Luce, one of its founders and bosses, was born and raised in China's Shandong province as the descendant of an American preacher.

Because of his special connection to China, the magazine's attention has been focused on China during his many decades at the helm, and this tradition continues today. Now, Time's coverage of China has been widely expanded to include many points of view, including politics and culture, moreover, lots of famous actors have appeared on the cover of the Asian version of Time.
