Transportation affected by snowfall

Transportation in northern China has been significantly affected by the heavy snow.

Fewer cars were seen on Sunday on the streets in the urban areas of Beijing and Tianjin, as well as cities in Hebei Province and Inner Mongolia. Highways were temporarily shut down, and long distance buses were canceled.

Local officials, have implemented emergency measures to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow. Air travel was also significantly affected by the severe snowstorms. In Beijing alone, more than 290 flights were canceled, and nearly 500 others were delayed during the course of the day.
