Police Tuesday detained three fake monks who sold fake medicine in Haiyang, a city in east China's Shandong Province, local news website Jiaodong.net reported.
These fake monks are in fact lazy farmers from central China's Henan Province. Instead of taking care of their farm lands at home, they shaved their heads, put on monk's clothing they bought and went up to Haiyang to sell fake medicine they got from market.
They claimed that their medicine items were from China's famous Shaolin Temple and could effectively cure pain in the waist and legs.
The local police have also detained another ten who confessed to being in the gang who cheat customers in other residential areas of Haiyang.
