The Third International Documentary Film Festival will take place in Vietnam's capital Hanoi on June 8-14 and southern Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City on June 6-13, attracting film makers from Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Denmark, Switzerland, Belgium and Vietnam, the festival's organizers announced at a press briefing in Hanoi Wednesday.

The festival is an opportunity for Vietnamese film-makers to exchange experience with their foreign partners, and for Vietnamese audience to enjoy foreign movies of different styles and approaches, said Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Director of the Vietnam Central Scientific and Documentary Film Studio, the only domestic participant to the festival.

According to Franck Pezza, Chief of the Wallonie-Brussels Group (Belgium) and the festival's coordinator, the event will be held simultaneously in Hanoi and HCM City with more high-quality movies than the two previous festivals. A Vietnamese movie and a European movie of the same topic will be shot in one night, like a dialogue.

The festival is held as part of the activities by the European Union of National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) in Hanoi.
