China, Vietnam hold seminar on culture issues

Liu Yunshan, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee (CPCCC) and head of the CPCCC Publicity Department, and To Huy Rua, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) and head of the CPVCC Publicity and Education Department attended the seminar.
With the theme of "Culture development in the context of adopting open-up policy and promoting market economy," the seminar, the sixth theory study jointly held by the communist parties of the two countries, drew about 200 officials and experts.
In a keynote speech, Liu briefed the seminar on China's culture development with its own characteristics. Chinese communist party and government have always attached great importance to culture building, he said.
In recent years, China has pushed forward the reform in culture fields and mapped out major plans to speed up the development of culture sector, said Liu.
Liu highlighted the importance of culture bridge in communication among different nations and races. He said it is important for the governing parties of China and Vietnam to study the law of the culture development and increase exchanges regarding culture issues.
The outcomes of this meeting are expected to contribute to the balanced and coordinated development among economic, political, social and culture sectors in China and Vietnam respectively, said Liu.
In the keynote speech of the Vietnamese party official, Rua introduced measures that Vietnam have taken in culture building and the some thoughts in promoting culture development in the context of market economy.
