Boats used in Expo opening ceremonies to be auctioned

The eye-catching first public auction of Shanghai World Expo assets will begin on Aug.18 in Shanghai.

Three motor boats and ten flagships, which were used in the opening ceremony of Shanghai World Expo, will be unveiled in the public sale. The most noteworthy ones are the two leading motor boats which acted as guides of the flagships in the opening ceremony.

The bodies of the boats bear the logo of 2010 Shanghai World Expo and words reading "special for opening ceremony."

The motor boats have a fashionable appearance and good controllability, making them suitable for diving, fishing as well as surfing. The flagships also have a fashionable streamlined appearance. They can not only be used as collector's items, but also in water sports.

In order to attract more buyers, the auction will be held both in the auction hall and online. After this first auction, 34 auto boats, 211 flagships, the LED lights, wind-surfing boards, performance costumes will be auctioned in succession.
