A test-tube baby was recently born after a gestation period of only 25 weeks in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.

Chongqing Evening reported that the 28-cm baby, which weighed 610 grams at birth, is the lightest newborn in the region.

Experts say the premature baby's survival is a miracle as the survival rate of a fetus under 28 weeks is very low.

The weak baby will stay in a nursing box for the next two months and will be given 4ml milk each day to ensure nutrition supply.
