"Heaven-sent Opportunity," (Tian Ci Liang Ji) a TV series on the entrepreneurial spirit of Shanghai's farmers, will shoot in the city's suburban Jinshan District.

The new film and TV production center of China Central Television (CCTV), Shanghai Yuanhe Film and Culture Co., Ltd., and the district's publicity office signed a contract recently to co-produce the series.

The story covers the development of a clothes manufacturer who decorates qipao, the traditional Chinese lady's dress, with Jinshan farmer paintings and sells them in European and American markets. Jinshan farmer painting is an art form shaped in the 1970s by local farmers drawing daily sceneries.

Experts say that TV series on farmers of southeastern China have been rare in the last 30 years. The aptly named "Heaven-sent Opportunity," expected to be introduced during the Shanghai Expo, should help to fill the void.
