Recently, a girl from the post-'90s generation posted pictures of her naked back painted with patriotic images online, attracting more than 200,000 viewers within a few hours, people.com.cn reports.
"Auspicious girl," as she is known among Internet users, painted her back with eight images depicting great achievements of the People's Republic of China, such as its founding and its first atomic bomb and satellite, for a national day event she was attending.
"Many people think teenagers who were born after 1990 exist outside traditional or established institutions. Being part of that generation, I was just expressing my patriotic passion and creativity to prove that we are not as alternative as people think," the girl said.
People.com.cn said a great many netizens showed interest in the post, with most considering the move patriotic, but some seeing it was just for show.
The Web site says some education specialists believe the post-'90s have their own understanding of the nation's achievements, so it's not surprising that they express their love of the nation in such a creative way.
