On July 10, Li Chongyin, meteorologist and member of Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a speech on the hot topic, “weather”, on the 11th annual meeting of Science and Technology Association in Chongqing.

According to Li, global warming is caused by various reasons. Except the emissions of the greenhouse gas, the use of the air-conditioning and urban tropical island effect, cosmetics is also a killer of climate.

Cosmetics contains Freon which would be released up into the stratosphere and could not be discomposed without the strong photochemical. It would lead to the ozone layer’s destruction and the ultraviolet radiation’s strengthening. So the love of beauty impetuses the global warming.
