More than 130,000 horses have been infected since October 2007 as the horse flu continued to spread in Mongolia, the Mongolian General Authority for Emergency Management (GAEM) said Thursday.
According to the GAEM, 118 horses have died from the equine influenza virus in 14 provinces.
The government has taken measures to control the epidemic and more than 200,000 horses have recovered from the disease.
