Google.com and some of its services were not available in the Chinese mainland from Wednesday night to Thursday morning Beijing time, according to Chinese portal Sohu.com.
On the night of June 24, a large number of Chinese users reported to Sohu.com that Google.com and its relevant applications could not be reached.
When interviewed by Sohu.com, Google China's public relations manager Wang Jinhong said that Google China just received reports from its users regarding this matter and is investigating its real causes. It will promptly inform its users when the results come out.
At the time of new release by Sohu.com, services such as Google Reader, Gmail and Google.com were still unavailable. When attempting to access Google Reader, the system directly indicates an off-line status. After clicking the "connect" button, data synchronization could not be realized.
Google's Chinese website Google.cn is still available.
At present, the causes for the unavailability of Google's services are still unknown.
