The Tianwang-1 missile, also known as the "civil missile," independently developed by the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) successfully completed its all-weather duty during the Guangzhou Asian Games, and will be widely used in major events and during the construction of the "Peaceful City," said Ma Jie, NPC member from the CASIC.

Ma said that the missile is mainly directed at slow and small targets at low sky zone to erase any security concerns in large pubic activities. .

The Tianwang-1 missile is a detection and interception system. It can implement day and night detection and high-precision blanket interception regarding suspicious targets within a distance of 300 to 400 meters through its micro-sound, smokeless, flameless and lightless environmental-friendly launching means.
