Beijing will disperse as much as 16 million chip-embedded Olympic tickets - the first time in Olympic history that this technology is being used. Audiences can enter the venues by swiping their tickets at ticket inspection.

The chip is just 0.3 square millimeters in size, and 50 nano-meters deep, which can be embedded into paper. The farthest indentifying distance is about 5 meters.

It is said that ticketholder information is also on the ticket such as when and where the ticket is bought and when the ticket-holders enter the venues, so as to ensure security during the Games.
