Since the establishment of the China-ASEAN FTA, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Lao Cai and other provinces along the Vietnamese border with China have gone in for the positive development of transport, warehousing, banking and other border trade so as to facilitate their supporting services; Vietnam's Mong Cai city signed with Donxing city in China's southern Guangxi region a framework agreement on the cross-border economic cooperation zones.

At the time when global and regional economy is yet to pick up, the full implementation of the Sino-ASEAN FTA-related commitment reflects the firm determination and confidence of the parties concerned in promoting the growth of the FTA and in opposing to any form of trade protection, said Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Nguyen Can Tu to People's Daily reporters. As it assumes ASEAN chair in 2010, noted Nguyen, Vietnam would strive to spur the cooperation between ASEAN countries on the one hand and China and other partners on the other hand.

Bangkok is a distribution center of Chinese goods in Southeast Asia, and Chinese goods are now available either in comprehensive general markets or department stores in the city. A street market store holder told PD reporters in Bangkok that he purchased goods from Guangdong province, south China and, owing to lower tariff rates, commodity prices have also gone down steadily.
