Terrorist activities and separatist movements will never win support but be despised by all people. Lies and incitements cannot blind the eyes of kind hearts. Violence and hatred cannot destroy tender humanity. When clouds disperse, conscience will recover; truth and humanity will give out glorious rays.
As we mourn for the losses of innocent lives, the blood also wipes from our eyes, making us clear about right and wrong. Not only are kind and honest people in sorrow, but children and relatives of Rebiya Kadeer, the mastermind behind the violence, could not bear it any more. They all stand out, voicing their doubts and accusations either out of conscience or out of sympathy.

"Mum, we want to have a quiet and stable life, too."

After witnessing the violence, Rebiya's children wrote sincerely in a letter to her, grieving for the losses and sufferings it caused.

Mamatjan, Rebiya's brother said with anger and grief after witnessing the "big deal" his sister mentioned; "Everyone will be angry seeing innocent people killed, cars smashed and houses burned. Every Chinese will be mad, as we were enjoying a happy and harmonious life in a stable environment. Nobody wants this kind of thing to happen. I think it is wrong."

Rebiya's family and relatives said in a letter to the families of those injured and killed that Rebiya and World Uygur Congress had "inescapable responsibilities" for this issue.

"Many facts show that the violence is an action organized by the World Uygur Congress led by our mother, Rebiya Kadeer, and carried out by some separatists within borders."

"As children and relatives of Rebiya Kadeer, we are very furious with the violence, which is aimed at separating the country. We apologize to those innocent people killed and to their families. Although it has already been more than half a month, you are still in great pain from losing persons you love. The only thing we can say is sorry."

"Don't destroy the stable and happy life of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. Don't be egged on by other countries." “We don't want our mother cursed by people of all ethnic groups," her children wrote.

Bao Erhan, a patriotic Uygur, vice chairman of the Sixth CPPCC National Committee and the first president of China Islamic Association, said on many occasions, "We should cherish our motherland as the apple of our eye!" The firm faith expressed by this sentence will never be scattered, and the high-minded spirit will never fade.

He also said, "Xinjiang has been an integral part of China since 2000 years ago. It is not a place of one single ethnic group, but a place of all ethnic groups, just like China is not a country of one single ethnic group, but a country of all ethnic groups." Each ethnic group cannot live without others. The only way for us is to work hand in hand for common development and common prosperity. The golden ties of national unity will shine forever, linking the hearts of all ethnic groups together.
