China rallied to beat Germany 3-1 in Moscow on Sunday at the 50th table tennis men's team worlds, lifting the Swaythling Cup for the 17th time.

German star paddler Timo Boll, world No. 3, caused some trouble, but could not stop China from going to the top podium.

It was the 5th consecutive title claimed by the Chinese men's team in recent years.

The opening encounter between Ma Long and Timo Boll was a close competition, during which Boll established the initial advantage with a 3-2 win.

Ma Lin, who played the second match, upset Dimitrij Ovtcharov in three straight sets.

Then, Zhang Jike won another point for China by beating Christian Suss 3-1.

In the decisive fourth match, Ma Lin conquered Timo Boll 3-1, sealing the victory.
