Ghana dropped further three places in the latest FIFA world ranking, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced here on Wednesday.
A statement on the website of the country's footbal association said Ghana had slipped three places to 36th position in the world ranking from the previous 33rd position it was ranked in last month, on the world stage, while ranking 3rd on the continent after losing 39 points.
Egypt overtook Ghana in second place while Ivory Coast tops the ranking on the African table.
Spain is still the best ranked side in the World and the Netherlands sits second, followed by Germany and Brazil in fourth.
FIFA said a total of 88 matches were taken into account for the July edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, almost a third of which were part of this year's Copa America, which therefore had a considerable impact on July's ratings, taking the total number of games played this year to 474.
Ghana was a losing finalist at the African Cup of Nations held in Angola last year.
The West African country's senior national team, nick-named "Black Stars", were also quarter-finalists at the 2010 FIFA world cup held in South Africa.
