In his debut as head coach, Adilson Batista led the Sao Paulo soccer team to a frustrating 2-2 draw against Atletico-GO in the 11th round of the Brazilian Championship on Saturday.

Sao Paulo jumped out to an early lead in the 8th minute when Dagoberto lofted a free kick to an open Rhodolfo who easily headed in the team's first goal.

Atletico-GO responded before the end of the half by tying the match in the 44th minute off a goal from Bida who cleverly slid the ball under a diving keeper Rogerio Ceni.

Returning to the second half, Sao Paulo reclaimed the lead in the 53rd minute when Dagoberto assisted in yet another goal, this time finding veteran Rivaldo to freely head the ball past keeper Marcio and into the Atletico-GO goal.

Nevertheless, the visiting team responded by scoring the equalizer in the 68th minute when Rafael Cruz's crossed ball found a wide-open Anselmo to head the ball past Ceni and tie the match for good.

The result provisionally drops Sao Paulo to third place with 22 points while Atletico-GO remains steady in 17th place with 9 points. In the 12th round of play, Sao Paulo will travel to face Coritiba on July 27 while Atletico-GO receives Cruzeiro on the same day.
