Internacional fires head coach Falcao

After three consecutive losses in the 2011 Brazilian Championship, the president of Internancional the soccer team, Giovanni Luigi, opted to release head coach Paulo Roberto Falcao on Monday.

The club is expected to sign a new head coach by July 20.

Along with Falcao, Luigi decided to fire the vice-president of soccer at Internacional, Roberto Siegmann. Osmar Loss and Andre Doring will assume the command as interim head coaches as both are in charge of the club's under-23 division.

Falcao coached the team in 19 games during his short stay at Internacional, producing a record of eight wins, four draws and seven losses. Under Falcao, Internacional won the 2011 Rio Grande do Sul state championship.

Falcao originally signed a two-year contract with Internacional. However, an impatient management decided on the coach's early exit. The team currently stands in eighth place with 11 points.
