FC Barcelona look set for a busy week in the transfer market as the club looks to seal the purchases of Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez and Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabrigas.

Cesc, who left the Barcelona youth system to join Arsenal as a 16 year-old, has long been a target for Barca and the player has made no secret of his love for the club.

The main stumbling block appears to be the 40 plus million euros that Arsenal want for their playmaker, although Arsenal Director, Peter Hill Wood, admitted in the English press that the two clubs had been in contact and accepted that it was natural for Cesc to want to return to his hometown club.

With Arsenal's players due back for pre-season training before July 5, if a deal is to go through, it could be expected to go through before then.

Meanwhile Alexis is reported to have told team-mates in the Chilean national team with whom he is preparing the Copa America, that he is on the verge of joining Barcelona.

He would become the first Chilean player in history to play for the reigning Spanish and European Champions.

Udinese will also expect a fee of around 40 million euros for the player, who is also the subject of interest from English trio, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea.

Barcelona' s debts of over 400 million euros, mean that should the two deals go through, the club will cool its interest in Villarreal' s Italian striker Giuseppe Rossi.

Meanwhile Bojan Krkic is attracting interest from Italian side AS Roma, which will next season be coached by former Barcelona B-team boss Luis Enrique, Bojan' s sale would help to finance Barcelona' s moves in the transfer market.
