Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti had been sacked from the coaching position after a trophy-less season that saw them finish runners up to Manchester United, the club confirmed in a statement on Sunday.

"Chelsea Football Club can confirm that Carlo Ancelotti parted company with the club today," a statement on Chelsea's website read following the team's 1-0 final day defeat at Everton.
