Corinthians were held a 0-0 draw with Santos at home in the first leg of the Sao Paulo state finals on Sunday.

Both Santos and Corinthians came close to scoring. Santos' talented striker Neymar blasted a ball sharply off the Corinthians goalpost. Similarly, Corinthians Fabio Santos fired a ball that exploded off the Santos goalpost. Apart from these two incidences, neither team was able to score against its opponent.

Santos suffered a moral defeat early in the first half when star midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso asked to leave the match, complaining of sharp pains in his right leg. The athlete was rushed to the hospital in order to quickly diagnose the athlete. The injury is located in his inner-upper right thigh.

Due to the injury, Ganso is expected to miss the next 30 days of action. The injury will keep the athlete from participating in the return leg against Corinthians in the Sao Paulo state final on May 15 and will sideline the athlete from playing in the quarterfinals match against Once Caldas on May 12 in the Libertadores Cup.
