After a come-from-behind victory over America, Atletico-MG advanced to the finals of the Minas Gerais state championship with a 2-1 victory and 5-2 aggregate score.

America celebrated its 99-year anniversary on Saturday. The team scored the game's opening goal in the 60th minute. Shelson headed a pass to Luciano who redirected the ball into the back of the Atletico-MG goal.

However, Atletico-MG responded quickly. The home team scored the equalizer in the 75th minute when Giovanni Agusto broke through the America defense and rolled the ball off to a wide-open Magno Alves who then fired into the right side of the America goal.

Altetico-MG took the lead just one minute later. Catching the America defense off guard, Serginho caught up to a long pass and dribbled around keeper Flavio to tap the ball into the open net.

Atletico-MG will face the winner of the series between Cruzeiro and America-TO on Sunday. Cruzeiro won the first leg 8-1 and is all but guaranteed to face its arch rival Atletico-MG in the state finals.
