In the last round of the second half of the Rio de Janeiro state championship, Flamengo were held 1-1 draw with Macae on Sunday and extended its undefeated streak to 22 games.

After a scoreless first half, Flamengo scored the game's first goal. Off a Ronaldinho corner kick in the 57th minute, Jean leaped in the air to head the ball towards the goal. The ball would not have entered the goal by itself, but Macae defender Andre Gomes helped the ball to enter, slamming it into the back of the goal.

Macae scored the equalizer in the 78th minute when Robson's shot on goal was deflected by keeper Felipe. On the rebound, an unmarked Hyantony easily headed the ball into the open goal.

Flamengo had the chance to secure the win in the closing minutes of the match. Diego Mauricio was tackled in front of the Macae net in stoppage time, leading to a Ronaldinho penalty kick. However, the star midfielder missed the opportunity and shot the ball over the left side of the goal.

The result keeps Flamengo in second place of Group A with 16 points. In the semifinals of the second half of the state tournament, the team will face the first place finisher of Group B, rival Fluminense on April 24.

As the winner of the first half of the tournament, Flamengo has high hopes of clinching the 2011 state title by winning the second half. Furthermore, the club has the chance to win the tournament undefeated, a feat that has not happened since 1996.
