The president of Botafogo, Mauricio Assumpcao, bitterly rejected Atletico-MG's initial offer for striker Jobson on Sunday.

The president firmly declared that the team is interested in making money off Jobson and does not intend on accepting petty cash.

While celebrating the 15-year anniversary of Botafogo's last Brazilian Championship, Assumpsao did not hide his dissatisfaction with Atletico-MG's recent offer for Jobson.

Atletico-MG offered an estimated 140,000 for Jobson for a one- year loan. Assumpsao declared that the offer was insulting and a waste of his time.

Admittedly wanting to make money off Jobson's almost certain transfer, Assumpsao warned Atletico-MG to return to the negotiating table when they are serious.

In relation to Botafogo's anxious fan base that is eager to learn of the team's reinforcements for the 2011 season, Assumpsao asked for patience.

The president affirmed that negotiations are in the works and that only after the successful completion of such negotiations will he divulge the information.

Botafogo will spend its pre-season in Uruguay. While there, the team will participate in multiple scrimmages and friendly matches against local teams. Three Uruguayan athletes are reported to be on the list of possible acquisitions for next season.
