FC Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola watched his side hammer local rivals Espanyol 5-1 away from home with another magnificent display of football and then said that one day his side's form would come to an end.

Two goals from Pedro, two from Villa and a smart finish from Xavi Hernandez helped Barca continue their 100 percent away record at the expense of Espanyol, who had previously won all of their games in the Cornella el Prat stadium.

The win means Barcelona will enter the New Year as leaders of the BBVA Primera Liga and Guardiola was delighted with his players.

"It depends on us for how long this run continues, but the magic will end one day or another," he warned.

"Today we won against a very good side. Espanyol are a young team, they work hard and they forced us to play a great game, there are always big tests in the season and this was one of them," he said in Sunday's edition of sports paper Diario AS.

"I congratulate my team for the calm they want about things, we stopped Espanyol with certain aspects of our play. It was a great night and there is a lot of merit in winning here."

"It is very complicated to win in this ground, nobody creates chances in this ground and we were able to do that. It was our hardest away match of the season," said Guardiola.

Barcelona end their 2010 with a home match in the Copa del Rey when they entertain Athletic Club Bilbao on Tuesday.
