At home against the Guarani soccer team, Sao Paulo won on Wednesday by the score of 2-1 in the 24th round of the Brazilian Championship.

Sao Paulo scored the game's first goal in the 13th minute. Receiving a pass from Casemiro, Marlos dribbled past defender Alison and angled the ball past keeper Douglas.

Guarani was awarded a penalty kick in the 45th minute after the referee called Mirando for holding Baiano's jersey. Two minutes later, Baiano took the kick, firing it past a diving Rogerio Ceni and into the left side of the goal.

Sao Paulo retook the lead in the 64th minute when Ricardo Oliveira took advantage of a rebound after a corner kick, effortlessly guiding the ball into the net.

The win takes Sao Paulo to 34 points, but they remain in eighth place. In the 25th round of play, the team will receive Goias on September 25.

Guarani dropped to twelfth place with 30 points. In the next round of play, the team will host Vasco da Gama on September 25.
