Head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari and Valdivia have already run into difficulties. Scolari claims to understand the frustration of the player and hopes to see him in prime shape in the near future. According to Scolari, Valdivia is still unable to play a full game or even a full half, giving only about 20 minutes of solid play.
