Santos defeat Atletico-MG 2-0 in Brazil soccer

On the road against Atletico-MG in the 15th round of the Brazilian championship, Santos won 2-0 on Sunday.

Santos' star striker Neymar guaranteed his team's win, scoring his team's first goal off a penalty kick and assisting in his team 's second goal.

Santos' first goal came in the 57th minute. After Atletico-MG's fullback Werley deflectd the ball with his hand inside of the goalie box, Santos was awarded a penalty kick.

18-year-old star Neymar took the penalty kick, firing the ball into the right side of the goal. The team's second goal came in the 78th minute when Neymar threaded an excellent ball to Danilo who proceeded to knock the ball into the left side of the goal.

Atletico-MG's keeper Aranha was able to get his glove on Danilo 's ball, but was unable to avoid receiving his second goal of the match.

In his first game with Santos after affirming to stick with the team in light of Chelsea's interest, the striker had an impressive impact on the match, leading to both of his team's goals.

The win improves Santos to sixth place with 21 points, recuperating lost ground in this year's tournament. In the 16th round of play, the team will travel to play Gremio on August 25.

Atletico-MG remain in serious trouble in this year's tournament. Sunday's result leaves the team in eighteenth place with 13 points.

In the next round of play, the team will travel to play Flamengo on August 26.
