Atletico-PR beat Flamengo to extend 36-year undefeated streak

Host to the Flamengo soccer team in the 15th round of the Brazilian championship, Atletico-PR won 1-0 on Sunday to extend Atletico-PR's 36-year undefeated streak against Flamengo at home.

The game's only goal came in the 81st minute. Off a stopped ball, team captain Paulo Baier lofted a ball towards the Flamengo net. Teammate Manoel redirected the ball, landing into the back of the Flamengo net for the win.

The victory marks the continuation of a 36-year history in which Atletico-PR remain undefeated against Flamengo at home in the city of Curitiba, Parana.

The win leaps Altetico-PR four positions, landing in 13th place with 17 points. In the next round of play, the team will travel to face Gremio Prudente on August 25.

Flamengo's loss drops them to ninth place with 20 points. In the 16th round of play, the team will host Atletico-MG on August 26.
