Paraguay media hail second World Cup victory in group

Paraguay media hailed their national soccer team's 2-0 victory over Slovakia on Sunday when the South American side is close to reach the second round of the World Cup in South Africa.

Local daily "ABC Color" headlines "Paraguay, your dad!" in reference to the Father's Day celebrated on Sunday in the country.

Daily "Ultima Hora" said Paraguay showed a great soccer performance by defeating Slovakia, and the Paraguayan team was superior to Slovakia during all the match, mainly at the first half.

Daily "La Nacion" said "Paraguay won over Slovakia and is touching the next round."

The goals came from Enrique Vera and Cristian Riveros. Paraguay will next face New Zealand on Thursday.
