Cote d'Ivorie beat Japan 2-0 in a warmup for the World Cup in Sion, Switzerland, on Friday.
Cote d'Ivoire captain Didier Drogba limped off apparently with pain in his groin and right hip after a high 15th-minute challenge by Japan defender Marcus Tulio Tanaka.
Two minutes earlier, the African side scored when Drogba's 22-meter free kick was deflected by Tulio into his own net.
Defender Kolo Toure scored from close range in the 81st, meeting a free kick with a crisp shot.
Cote d'Ivoire plays in Group G with Brazil, Portugal and DPR Korea. Japan's Group E has the Netherlands, Cameroon and Denmark.
